Welcome to The Hart Homestead

Updated: Jan 30

Hello everyone.

Gosh, this feels like it's been a long overdue blog post.

Welcome to The Hart Homestead.

My name is Shannon. I'm a crazy chicken lady, mother of 2, Vermont native, milkmaid, showtune singing, fabulous brunette. I definitely missed a few titles, but I'm sure we'll all get to know each other. I'm the one who usually runs all our social media and all you see here. But there's a bunch of us Harts.

My husband, Sam, works here at home on all things automotive. He's brilliant, and often filthy. But loves all things that "go". He's very handy and handsome and loves farming too.

He's got a particular affection for the pigs and our beef cows.

My son, Henry becomes more and more reliable every day. He's also witty and brilliant.

Henry is rather fond of the garden and the chickens. He also enjoys working with our dairy cows and showing a jersey calf at the local county fair.

My daughter Mia is 2 as I type this, and if you can imagine a 2 year old living at a petting zoo, that's pretty much the vibe with her right now. Adorable chaos. So. Much. Enthusiasm. She likes all of it. She likes being outside, picking apples, eating everything out of the garden, splashing in puddles, etc.

We bought our farm in 2020, moving here from the neighboring town. During such a crazy time in the world, we felt like we were home as soon as we walked in. We had big dreams!

(Insert a crazy home buying process over the ENTIRE summer here)

We finally moved in! Then 2 days later our dairy cows Fern and Dolly moved in too.

See? Big dreams!

We haven't stopped hustling since!

It's so nice to meet you all. Enjoy!
